50 Engaging Questions to Ask a Child

It’s easy to get into the routine of asking “How was your day?” or “What did you do at school?” Chances are you got a vague response like “it was fine” or “I don’t know.” For many kids these questions are too broad. So much happened from this morning until now that they aren’t sure how to answer. To help your child open up and engage in more meaningful conversation try asking a more specific question or open-ended questions. Try one of our 50 questions to spark a conversation with your kid:

  • What’s your favorite color?
