🌈 Pride at the Intersection: Honoring Neurodivergent LGBTQIA+ Voices

We hope you had a Happy Pride from all of us at Joyscape Therapy! β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

At Joyscape, inclusion is more than a value; it’s the heart of what we do. This past June, and every month, we’re celebrating the beautiful spectrum of identities within the LGBTQIA+ community, including the powerful voices and experiences of autistic and otherwise neurodivergent individuals.

Research and lived experience both show that neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ identities often intersect. Autistic individuals are more likely to identify as LGBTQ+, and this intersection can bring unique strengths as well as challenges, especially when it comes to navigating identity, self-advocacy, and mental health. As a neurodiversity-affirming practice, we are proud to uplift and support our clients, families, and team members living at this intersection.

Throughout Pride Month, we spotlighted organizations, creators, and resources that affirm these identities, encourage self-expression, and foster belonging. Here are just a few highlights:
